Probably one of the sketchier things I’ve ever done. Right now I’m pricing out sports physicals online.
Right now I’m insurance less. Urgent care is $75+. You all know my money goes to my hobbies and bills. I’m not paying that for some fake doctor to poke me with a Popsicle stick. I need money to pay for tri shorts and this duathlon!!
CVS Minute Clinic does sports physicals for $49! Plus there is a $10 off coupon as well. Hell yes!
So I rode my bike!
I decided to ride to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and back. I was really loving it. Some slow miles, I had to ride with traffic, which makes me really nervous, but no one seemed to get frustrated with me.
On the way back I stopped at the Bottom Dollar Dog, its like a little roadside stand, but its an actual building, on a side street in Old Town. They follow me and talk to me on Instagram so I went to say ‘Hello’ in person. They recognized me! So strange! And they love Teddy.
As soon as I left, my right peddle felt a little weird. Then it fell off.
I spent 10+ minutes trying to put it back on. Luckily, I had my phone on me (phone & keys in my SpiBelt!! That thing is the best). I called Cody, he tried to help me over the phone but it just wasn’t working. So I CARRIED my bike to Pacers.
Good thing its only half a mile away from where I was semi-stranded. A little degrading and humiliating carrying my bike through a little boutique street. Argh. But one of my co-workers knows bikes and was able to put it on. He found a tool and managed to get it back on, although he said it was stripped and I’d probably need to replace it. Aaaiiiiieeee.
I need to tune it up anyway.
I made it home in one piece!! Good to know home to work is only a 23 min bike ride! Its actually about the same time it takes to drive (since I bike a longer way, on Holmes Run).
Glad that adventure is over. Now back to work again.

and she remembered me! Her and her co-worker both noticed how much better I am moving, and my form all around (was I really that awful a year ago?)
I asked her to check out my toe problem that I had. She agreed that its probably sesamoiditis or a little arthritic even, but its still mobile. And to keep doing the foot strengthening exercises and wear the Correct-Toes at night. Confession: I haven’t been wearing them the past couple of months because its been better, but I guess I will wear them more often now!
